Program Notes
Loosely based on a composition by Bernd Alois Zimmermann, this piece combines quotations from timpani parts from a total of 24 famous works of opera and concert literature to form a "symphonic collage". The three movements are marked Marcia , Capriccio and Recitativo .
The work is dedicated to Arend Weitzel's teacher Rainer Seegers.[1]
