Program Notes

Poison Water was written originally as a vibraphone and marimba duet but was changed to vibraphone and piano to better fit the conventional jazz sound. It begins with a minor but pleasant section where the listener senses something may be amiss but cannot be certain. It then shifts to a completely major and joyful tune, almost insisting that any misgivings were incorrect. However, nearly as quickly, it returns to the original theme and ends with the listenerÕs suspicions confirmed.
