Program Notes

(Three Dance Movements were completed in April of 1933 and premiered on November 22, 1933 at the New School with Henry Cowell, piano. In 1990 Russell wrote an additional movement titled " Tango" which can be played as the third movement in a set of four. The other movements are titled Waltz, March and Foxtrot.)
