Program Notes

Camp Stanton was written for Stanton Moore's first year of teaching at Louisiana State University. The piece incorporates the classic rudimental solo Three Camps. Compositionally, the work plays the traditional solo then launches into an Afro-Cuban feel, a march feel, then a call and response between the drummer and the percussion ensemble. Camp Stanton was premiered at Louisiana State University in 2019.
