Program Notes
Alive Sophia, Dead Sophia, Zombie Sophia was my first attempt at writing a glockenspiel solo. At the time, I was very much addicted to the television show, The Walking Dead. Sophia was a young character who was separated from the group of survivors by a zombie herd. She was missing for several episodes and was eventually found in a locked barn that was housing multiple zombies. Knowing that the human that was once Sophia was dead and gone, the leader of the group, Rick, killed her with a shot to the head.
