Program Notes

This major work for percussion ensemble gets its name from the number of instruments requested, about twenty, which is the size of a good chamber orchestra. Although only three performance parts are notated, more than three players could perform it. It is a standard symphony, my first, and was written in the month of January in central Wisconsin, a year when it was too cold to go outside. The piece is symphonic in dimension, and should be approached with careful attention to good tone.
