Overview

Taking drummers through the early steps of learning drum kit notation, this book is the ideal introduction to drumming for beginners. Through a series of engaging and practical play along pieces, exercises and teacher student duets, each element is progressively introduced, with handy tips and 'Did you know?' boxes throughout to illustrate and strengthen concepts - great preparation for Trinity College London Drum Kit or Rock & Pop Drums exams. Downloadable audio (demo and playalong tracks) is included.

Review

"This is a great way for new learners to start - kids or adults. If you don't know any theory it teaches you all you need to know about reading charts in 2/4 3/4 or 4/4 time. Also prepares you for reading if you're learning another instrument. Good to have all the duets which keep the teacher on his/her toes. The students like to be playing together with another musician and this is the only book so far that does it. It also works on the feet whereas the Rock School ones don't." By John Overton
