Jesper Hendze studied percussion and composition at the Carl Nielsen Academy in Odense, State University of New York at Buffalo and the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus. Primary teachers of composition has been David Felder, Per Nørgård and Karl Aage Rasmussen.
In 1991 Jesper Hendze received a three-year grant from The Danish Arts Foundation. Presently he is in charge of the Danish Composers' Society's studio for computerized music notation.
The ouevre of Jesper Hendze covers a wide range of genres. His work Sundial for string orchestra (2002) was 1st Prize winner of Turku Conservatory's 40th Anniversary Nordic Composition Contest.[1]
