(Six of the Eight Pieces for Four Timpani - Saeta (4'31"), Perpetual Motion (1'49"), Recitative (3'17"), Improvisation (3'2"), Canaries (3'36") and March (2'50") - were written in 1950 and revised in 1966. The other two, Adagio (2'25") and Canto (3'21") were written in 1966 and added to make up the present eight.)
