Description
Composer Ivo Weijmans dedicated Concerto no. 1 to his daughter ‘Brechje’. The two great characteristics of her (and perhaps every child) are, on the one hand, the dependence and vulnerability of such a child, which makes you want to approach her with the greatest tenderness. This is reflected in the very slow first movement. Sensitive but also very slow so that the soloist can fully express his tremolo part without technical limitations. In stark contrast to the tenderness and vulnerability of the first movement is the vitality, playfulness and endless energy of the second movement, Danza. Character traits, such as the composer also finds in his daughter every day.
