Program Notes

Five Guys and Some Fries is derived mostly from the number of musicians along with the rhythm of the title. The introduction is just an appetizer for the feast that is to come in the minimalist style of the fast 5/4 section. Each performer plays the "Five Guys and Some Fries rhythm at staggered times until they all synchronize at the end! Try and keep track of these title rhythms throughout the piece. The most difficult aspect is creating equal balance between instruments so the rhythm stay true. This balance is crucial. Five Guys and Some Fries is rather simple individually but quite complex for young musicians an ensemble level.
