Each Monday evening the bells ring from the church tower. They mostly play slowly changing ostinatos, but sometimes the bells all sound together in a clanging chord. This slow and mostly tranquil piece for solo 4 mallet Vibraphone begins with a gradual reveal of an ostinato in B minor, over which a melody then unfolds. At the climax of the piece, a passage in octaves is followed by clanging chords and the slow dismantling of the ostinato until only one note remains. The piece is played without the motor and with the pedal down throughout.
