Description
Cataphonics by Lawrence Weiner is written for percussion ensemble. This piece is scored for 13 players but can be performed with as little as 10 players. The four movements in this work encompass a wide variety of moods, colors, and effects, sudden rhythmic changes, harmonic devices ranging from the traditional to the most advanced, and frequent contrasts between the most powerful and delicate sounds obtainable from the group.
