Mr Peter Evans(AGSM) originally from Manchester, is a freelance musician in London,working with many of the main orchestra including the RO, LPO, and BBC Welsh SO. He also worked as a percussion teacher for the Inner London Education Authority. In 1980 he was appointed as Principal Timpanist of the Scottish Ballet Orchestra, a post he still holds. In 1985 he moved from London to live in Glasgow and initially took a percussion teaching post with Lothian region. In 1989 he was appointed to the panel of Percussion Examiners for the [[Guildhall School of Music and Drama]] and subsequently to the [[Trinity Guildhall]] examination panel upon the merger of the two boards. Since 1990 he has taken up various teaching posts in Glasgow area. In 1997 he was asked to join the staff of Napier University as a lecturer in Percussion and in 2002 he also joined the percussion department at [[Royal Conservatoire of Scotland]]. During his time in Glasgow he had also worked extensively with BBCSSO and RSNO as well as Scottish Opera and Scottis Chamber Orchestra. In recent years he has involved tutoring on NYOS courses.
