There are exams at [[ABRSM Grade 8 Keyboard Percussion]], [[ABRSM Grade 8 Snare Drum]] and [[ABRSM Grade 8 Timpani]] as individual, standalone subjects. [[Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music]] also offer [[ABRSM Grade 8 Orchestral Percussion]] to allow candidates to demonstrate their skills in all three subjects. | ||
Percussion exams consist of three pieces, studies or scales and arpeggios, sight-reading and aural tests. Total marks in all individual Practical exams are 150. 100 marks are required to achieve a Pass, 120 to pass with Merit and 130 marks to pass with Distinction. | |||
