The Timekeeper by Guy Gauthreaux is a quaint little snare drum solo written for a young drumming student. In 4/4 at 120 bpm, it doesn't get much more straight-forward than that. As the title says, this solo should be used to help establish a firm sense of timing. Students will need to know how to play 16th notes, accents and flams.
