‘Metamorphonic’ consists of the continuous transformation of an apparent simple theme into extremes. Initially tonal motives and clear ritmic cells constantly alter into surprising variations, subjected to different instrumentations, keys and times. The use of ‘boomwhackers’ reduces the melody to the bare minimum. Each player produces a single note of the melody, transforming it into a children’s song. Ritmic and melodic parts rapidly alternate troughout the different contrasting parts. One moment pompuous and dramatic, then as a subtle imitation while the main themes keeps cropping up. During the festive closure the main melody almost transforms into a dance, ending grand and ceremoniously.

Descriptions
