The Timpani Tuning book by Mervin Britton is a wonderful book that can help a percussionist have a better understanding of tuning and tuning changes of the timpani. At the start of the book, it goes into great detail about scales, key signatures and setting up on tuning the timpani. After it gives a lot of exercises to practice and work through. For every subject it gives details about what to do and then gives examples. I would suggest this book to a college student who is pursuing as a percussionist. <br>
