	<!-- ~~Enter~~ the ~~composer's biography here -->~~		Max Heaton is a freelance timpanist and percussionist - he has experience of playing with several professional orchestras as a freelancer, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra, with whom he performed at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels to celebrate their 70th Anniversary in 2019. He is a recent graduate of the Royal College of Music, where he was taught by Matt Perry, Chris Ridley, and Alex Neal, and also received regular tuition and masterclasses with David Hockings, Sam Walton, Andy Barclay, Adrian Bending, Anthony Kerr, and Hugh Wilkinson. In 2019, he was a member of English National Opera’s Evolve Sit-In Scheme, and spent a year attending and playing in rehearsals and performances. In 2017, he was chosen to participate in the prestigious LSO Percussion and Timpani Academy, receiving tuition from members of the LSO in an intensive week of masterclasses. In 2018, he played in the Royal College of Music Symphony Orchestra and performed Richard Strauss’ An Alpine Symphony conducted by Bernard Haitink, and has taken part in a performance of Stravinsky’s Les Noces alongside members of the London Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall, conducted by Vasily Petrenko, and a performance of Brahms’ Symphony No. 2 with members of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. He is a former member of the National Youth Orchestra, with whom he performed at the 2015 and 2016 BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall, as well as at The Barbican, Royal Festival Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, The Bridgewater Hall and Snape Maltings Concert Hall, with internationally renowned conductors such as Sir Mark Elder, Edward Gardner, John Wilson, Ilan Volkov, Kristjan Järvi and Nicholas Collon; furthermore, he received tuition from Aidy Spillett, Ian Wright, Simon Carrington, Patrick King and Chris Bradley. He has also performed at the Berlin Konzerthaus with the National Youth Orchestra as part of the Young Euro Classic Festival 2015, and in 2012, he performed for the Queen in Westminster Hall with the National Children’s Orchestra, as part of her Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
