			"Asian Games" is a percussion septet scored for marimba, xylophone, chimes, tam-tam, two nipple gongs, and accessories consisting of woodblock, temple blocks and tambourine. Nipple gongs are normally of definite pitch, but the part is only written as high and low, so it is assumed that substitute metallic sounds could be used. The entire composition is written as a waltz, with dialogue between the accessory players and the melodic instruments. Both the marimba and xylophone parts are written for two mallets. This is an excellent ensemble with which to introduce young percussionists to the colors and fun of ensemble performance.
