== Program Notes ==
This is a piece written for the percussion team of Noheji Junior High School, Noheji Town, Aomori Prefecture, to participate in the ensemble contest in 2013. This piece has the theme of ``farewell'' and quotes the melody from Mahler's Symphony No. 9 (fourth movement). There are no parts where there is a good beat that is typical of a percussion ensemble, and there is no time signature in the first half. Please use the notes notated on the sheet music as a rough guide, and I hope you will play with an image of a drifting, undulating sound.

== Performance Notes ==
* The beginning is written in 4/4 time to make it easier to understand, but please play without worrying about the time signature.
* Tom-tom and Roto-tom just before [A] feel like they suddenly break up the quiet atmosphere. However, be very careful not to damage the tone.
* If you cannot prepare a Thai gong, please use a chime instead. In that case, please use the hammer etc. to make the sound as soft as possible.
* Part [B] will be an improvisational performance. Please feel free to play.
* Part [C] has the image of Player II responding to Player III's Tai Gong melody with Tom-tom, Suspended cymbals, etc. Try to respond differently each time.
* "Water Sound", which starts one measure before [F], is inspired by the sound of rain. Make a small hole in the bottom of the plastic bottle and fill it with water to create a shower. I think you can adjust the amount and force of the water coming out by adjusting the size and number of holes you make, and how loosely you loosen the cap, so try to make it so that you can hear a popping sound near the end of the song. Please. (You may use more than one.)
* For the "High pitch metal instrument" two bars before [H], I think the high-pitched part of the wind chime, pin chime, finger cymbal, etc. would be good. (Some groups played with creative techniques, such as hitting the high-pitched part of the wind chime with finger cymbals.)
* "Large Wind chimes" is intended for large interior door chimes and other items that make a "clunking" sound. You may be able to use multiple wind chimes instead.
